29 Apr Activity: How strong is your fabric?
Think of the top 3- 5 people you interact with most often during the work day…how strong is the fabric between you?
Trust Assessment & Action Plan for Leaders
Step 1: Trust Measurement
Assess the level of trust you have with the 3-5 organizational leaders you interact with most on a 5-point scale, where:
1️⃣ Minimal Trust – I hesitate to share information or rely on them.
2️⃣ Low Trust – I only engage when necessary, with caution.
3️⃣ Moderate Trust – We collaborate, but I have some reservations.
4️⃣ High Trust – I feel comfortable working with them and sharing insights.
5️⃣ Complete Trust – I fully rely on them and feel aligned in our goals.
Step 2: Trust-Building Activities
Select an activity to strengthen trust based on your existing trust level:
🔹 1 – Minimal Trust → “Understanding Each Other’s Why”
Activity: Schedule a one-on-one trust conversation where you both share motivations, work values, and what you both need to feel supported. Identify one action each of you can take to strengthen trust.
🔹 2 – Low Trust → “Collaboration Challenge”
Activity: Choose a small, low-risk project that requires you to work together. Identify where you believe your biggest barriers will be. Set clear roles and encourage open feedback to build confidence in each other’s abilities.
🔹 3 – Moderate Trust → “Transparency Check-In”
Activity: Seek out the leader and share that you believe there is room in your relationship to build trust. Suggest holding a joint problem-solving session on a real challenge. Openly share concerns, decision-making processes, and areas where they feel alignment or misalignment.
🔹 4 – High Trust → “Strengths Exchange”
Activity: Each leader shares one strength they appreciate in the other and one area where they could use more support.Use this to deepen collaboration. Want more information on how to do this in a group setting? Just reach out to me.
🔹 5 – Complete Trust → “Advocate for Each Other”
Activity: Publicly endorse or support each other in a meeting, strategy session, or decision-making process. Reinforce trust by demonstrating mutual confidence and backing each other’s contributions.
Step 3: Follow-Up
After completing the activity, discuss and reassess your trust level and explore what has changed. Building trust is an ongoing process, but small actions can lead to significant improvements in collaboration and leadership effectiveness.
