26 Mar Trust Starts With Leadership!
Did you know that “only 46% of leaders trust their direct manager to make the right decisions”? This lack of trust isn’t just a statistic, it has a profound impact on how employees feel and behave at work.
When trust is missing, employees feel unsupported, disengaged, and ultimately check out emotionally. It’s no surprise that “employees who don’t trust their leadership are 12 times more likely to feel disengaged.” When this happens, collaboration suffers, communication breaks down, and teams can’t perform at their potential.
As leaders, we have to take responsibility for creating a culture of trust and connection. We need to show vulnerability, share our challenges, and lead with empathy. “When leaders regularly show vulnerability, employees are 5.3 times more likely to trust them.” This trust is about fostering relationships and giving our teams permission to open up, collaborate, and thrive.
Disconnect has a real impact on engagement, performance, and retention. Without trust, teams can’t collaborate effectively, and leaders can’t inspire their people to reach their full potential.
It’s time for us to act. We must lead by example, prioritize connection, and rebuild trust to help our teams flourish.
